Greetings and welcome to all Newcomers from Lady Francesca Tessa d'Angelo, Chatelaine for the Shire of Vulpine Reach.

As the "Chatelaine" (pronounced "shat-eh-layne"), my job is to help you get started playing in the Society for Creative Anachronism. Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. I can direct you to resources for getting started in the Society such as getting your first garb together, help you get connected with individuals in your area(s) of interest, and give you insight on how the SCA works, like "how is it different from a ren faire".  And for the record, there is no such thing as a stupid question.

Getting Ready For Your First Event
Age Limitations: If you are under age 18, you must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to attend an SCA event. If your parents or legal guardians are unable to attend, they must fill out and have notarized the waiver forms found here. Additionally, you must be 18 before you can participate in certain martial (fighting) activities. For those of you under the age of 18, the Kingdom of Meridies does have a youth combat training program in place. Please check with the Knight Marshal to find out about youth combat.
