Battle of the Bay

August 28-30, 2009 Harrison Bay State Park

Tournaments

Heavy Combat

The Battle of the Bay pits the warriors who fight for Vulpine Reach against the warriors who fight for Owl's Nest.

This year's tournament features a return of the Ten-Man Melee! Teams of up to ten will fight in a double-elimination (or round-robin, depending on participation) tournament. There may be three knights per team of ten (or two knights for teams less than ten). Each team will declare their allegiance to either Vulpine Reach or Owl's Nest and will fight both for their own standing in the tournament as well as points for their side. Each victory earns a win for the team and tilts control of the river to the Foxes or the Owls. Every member of the overall winning team will earn a Foxes medallion as well as a handmade gift (courtesy of Lady Isabel Glengavel, THL Juliana de Florey, and the crafters of our shire).

Our melee tournament begins at 10:00am. Inspections begin at 9:00am and close promptly at 9:50am.*

For more information, contact our heavy combat marshal,
Lord Owen Arbalista.

Rapier Combat Bring out your sharp blades and sharper wits for our annual rapier tourney. Teams of three fencers will compete in a round robin melee tournament.

As above, trios will declare allegiance to either Vulpine Reach or Owl's Nest and will fight for both their own tournament standing and the success of their side in the overall battle. Every member of the winning trio will earn a Foxes medallion and a special prize courtesy of Lady Maeve MacLeod and Silver Dragon Pottery.

Our rapier tournament begins at 10:00am. Inspections begin at 9:00am and close promptly at 9:50am.*

For more information, contact our group rapier marshal,
THL Ursus Grim.

Live Weapons

Even the archers of Meridies have taken up the cause for the river. Come participate in special water-themed competitions and possibly win a point for your side.

Our open archery tournament begins at 10:00am and runs throughout the day, closing at 3:30pm. The winner of the tournament will earn a Foxes medallion and a special prize to be announced.

For more information, contact the archery tourney marshal, The Honorable Laird Davoc Walkere.

All combat tournaments and scenarios are subject to change.
Keep an eye on the Tournaments page for updates!
*As a courtesy to your fellow fighters and to ensure that our tournaments begin on time, we ask that all fighters come prepared to be fully inspected by the close of their inspection time. To ease the burden on our event staff and marshals, please have your paperwork ready to present before your inspection and take care of re-authorizations before the event. Only new authorizations will take place at Foxes. Our tournaments shall begin promptly as scheduled and late arrivals WILL NOT be admitted to the list.
Even a half-an-hour delay equals half-an-hour fighting in hotter temperatures.
